The General Authority for Transport, in cooperation with relevant authorities, announced the apprehension of a number of foreign trucks that violated approved regulations and legislation by transporting goods between cities of the Kingdom.

The Authority stated in its release its commitment to regulating the transport sector and raising the level of compliance with regulations to achieve fair competition and enhance the safety and security of services, in addition to preserving road infrastructure and public assets.

The Authority explained that approved regulations only allow foreign trucks to transport goods from outside the Kingdom to a specified destination city, or on their return journey to the country of origin, provided they obtain prior permission from the General Authority for Transport.

The Authority also confirmed the continuation of its inspection campaigns across all regions of the Kingdom in cooperation with relevant authorities to apprehend violations and ensure compliance with legislation. The Authority called on citizens and residents to report any violations related to the operation of foreign trucks through its official channels or via the unified number 19929.
